Account Integrity and Authentic Identity

Account Integrity and Authentic Identity

Last Updated: August 1, 2023

Rationale

At Nevix, we consider authenticity and integrity as vital aspects of our community. We firmly believe that authenticity forms a trust-based environment where users can be held accountable for their actions both to each other and to Nevix.

Our objective is to encourage a diverse spectrum of identities while also curbing impersonation and misrepresentation of identity. We hope that through our authenticity policies, we can foster a safe space for our users where they can trust and be accountable to each other.

We have created mechanisms to prevent accounts that violate our community standards and pose security risks. Both automated and manual systems are in place to block and remove such accounts, particularly those that are repeatedly or grossly abusive.

As account removal is a severe measure, we aim, whenever feasible, to provide users an opportunity to comprehend our rules and comply with our Community Guidelines. Any penalties, including account suspensions, are intended to be proportionate to the violation's severity and the community's risk of harm.

Prohibited Actions

To safeguard our community, Nevix will restrict or disable accounts or other entities (such as pages, groups, and events) in cases where users:

  • Violate our Community Guidelines either severely or persistently.
  • Form a network to violate or evade our Community Guidelines.
  • Represent Dangerous Individuals or Organizations.
  • Show an intent to violate our Community Guidelines.
  • Use scripted or other inauthentic means to create or use an account.
  • Evade our enforcement actions, including creating an account to bypass a restriction or after we have disabled your previous account, Page, Group or Event.
  • Deliberately misrepresent their identity in a way that is meant to mislead or deceive others, or to evade enforcement or violate our other Community Guidelines.

In cases of misrepresentation, we consider:

  • Repeated or significant changes to identity details, such as name or age
  • Misleading profile information, such as bio details and profile location
  • Use of stock imagery or stolen photos
  • Other related account activity

Users are also prohibited from:

  • Impersonating others by:
    • Using their photos with the explicit aim to deceive others.
    • Creating an account, page or group pretending to be or speak for another person or entity.
  • Engaging in Nevix ID squatting. This refers to the practice of registering or using an account under an ID specifically to prevent others from using it, particularly when the ID holds value or significance.
  • Attempts to sell, buy, or solicit other forms of payment in exchange for Nevix IDs (as known as usernames).

Actions Requiring Additional Context

In certain scenarios, we will seek further information about an account before taking actions ranging from temporarily restricting accounts to permanently disabling them. Such cases include:

  • Accounts misrepresenting their identity by:
    • Using an inherently violating name, containing slurs or any other violations of the Community Guidelines
    • Providing a false date of birth.
    • Creating a single account that represents or is used by more than one person.
    • Maintaining multiple accounts as a single user.
  • Compromised accounts.
  • Empty accounts with prolonged dormancy.

Enforcement

To maintain the integrity of our community, Nevix will enforce these policies effectively. We will send warnings to accounts suspected of violating these policies. Repeated violations will lead to account restrictions or even permanent account disabling, depending on the severity of the violation. The process of enforcement will be transparent and users will be given an opportunity to appeal the decisions.

Remember, these guidelines are in place to ensure Nevix remains a safe, secure, and authentic platform for everyone. Thank you for helping us maintain the quality and integrity of the Nevix community.
