Bullying and Harassment

Rationale

At Nevix, we value the safety, respect, and dignity of all users. Bullying and harassment create an environment of fear, discomfort, and disrespect, which goes against the ethos of our community. Such behavior can manifest in various ways, including threats, release of personal information, unwanted contact, and malicious messages. We aim to eliminate these destructive activities to allow every member to enjoy their experience on Nevix.

Public figures are allowed to be the subject of critical discussion due to their position and influence. However, severe attacks or targeted harassment, especially when directly tagged, are strictly forbidden. For private individuals, we offer more comprehensive protection, removing any content that aims to shame or degrade, especially concerning their sexual activity. Minors, between 13 and 18 years, are given additional protection due to the increased emotional impact bullying and harassment can have on them.

Please note that context and intent are vital when considering these regulations. Posts meant to draw attention to or condemn bullying and harassment are permitted.

Prohibited Content

To ensure a safe and respectful environment for all Nevix users, the following actions and content types are strictly prohibited:

Universal Protections

Every member of the Nevix community, including public figures, are protected from:

1. Repeated unwanted contact or sexually harassing messages.
2. Calls for self-injury or suicide of a specific person or group.
3. Attacks based on experiences of sexual assault, exploitation, harassment, or domestic abuse.
4. Severe sexualized commentary and derogatory sexualized imagery or drawings.
5. Claims that a violent tragedy did not occur or that individuals are lying about being victims of violent events.
6. Threats to release personal data including phone number, address, or medical records.
7. Calls for, or statements of intent to engage in, bullying and/or harassment.
8. Degrading or disgusting content depicting individuals in compromising positions or states.

Additional Protections for Minors, Private Adults, and Limited Public Figures

In addition to the universal protections, minors, private adults, and limited public figures are additionally protected from:

1. Claims about sexual activity (outside the context of criminal allegations against adults).
2. Dehumanizing comparisons to or about subhuman creatures, disease, or inanimate objects.
3. Content negatively highlighting specific physical characteristics or ranking based on appearance or traits.

Additional Protections for Private Minors, Private Adults, and Minor Involuntary Public Figures

Additional protections for these categories include:

1. Targeted cursing.
2. Claims about romantic involvement, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
3. Negative character or ability claims, except in criminal allegations and business reviews context.
4. Expressions of contempt, disgust, or content rejecting the existence of an individual.

Content Requiring Additional Context

Some content may require additional context or information to decide if it falls under the bullying and harassment policy. Such content may include:

1. Posts targeting private individuals through unwanted pages, groups, and events.
2. Creating accounts to contact someone who has blocked you.
3. Content praising, celebrating, or mocking anyone's death.
4. Content that calls for behavior that qualifies as bullying and harassment.
5. Content sexualizing a public figure.
6. Repeated unwanted contact for sexual harassment.
7. Mass harassment against individuals based on their COVID-19 vaccination status.
8. Directed mass harassment towards individuals at heightened risk of offline harm.

To ensure the above categories are treated appropriately, Nevix will require confirmation from the victim or an authorized representative that the content is unwanted or harmful.
