Restricted Goods and Services

Rationale

At Nevix, we believe in maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment for all users. To this end, we restrict the exchange of certain goods and services that might lead to harmful activities, pose safety risks, or violate local laws and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, the exchange, sale, or promotion of firearms, illicit drugs, and endangered species. Retailers, both online and physical, can promote certain regulated items like firearms, alcohol, and tobacco products available for sale off Nevix. However, the visibility of such content is restricted to adults. Discussions about the sale of these goods by stores or online retailers, as well as advocating changes to regulations, are allowed within our guidelines.

Prohibited Content

In our effort to prevent harmful and potentially illegal activities, we prohibit content that:

Firearms

• Attempts to buy, sell, trade firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, explosives, or lethal enhancements, unless posted by an entity representing legitimate brick-and-mortar businesses, websites, brands, government agencies, or individuals sharing content on behalf of these entities.
• Attempts to donate or gift firearms and related components, except under certain contexts (see above).
• Seeks firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, explosives, or lethal enhancements.
• Sells, gifts, exchanges, transfers, promotes, or provides access to 3D printing or computer-aided manufacturing instructions for firearms or firearm parts.
• Attempts to buy, sell, or trade machine gun conversion devices.

Non-medical and Pharmaceutical Drugs

• Attempts to buy, sell, trade, coordinate the trade of, donate, gift or asks for non-medical drugs.
• Admits to personal use of non-medical drugs without reference to recovery, treatment, or other assistance to combat usage.
• Coordinates or promotes the use or manufacture of non-medical drugs.
• Attempts to buy, sell, or trade pharmaceutical drugs, except under certain contexts (see above).

Endangered Species and Live Non-Endangered Animals

• Attempts to buy, sell, trade, donate, gift or asks for endangered species or their parts.
• Depicts poaching of endangered species or their parts.
• Attempts to buy, sell or trade live non-endangered animals, except under certain contexts (see above).

Other Restricted Goods

• Attempts to buy, sell, or trade human blood, alcohol, tobacco, weight loss products, historical artifacts, entheogens, and hazardous goods and materials.
• Admits to or depicts using a weight loss product or potentially dangerous cosmetic procedures, except when admitting to use in a disapproval context.

Content Requiring Additional Context

In certain cases, visibility of content related to firearms, alcohol, tobacco, bladed weapons, weight loss products, and potentially dangerous cosmetic procedures will be restricted to adults 18 years of age and older. Content related to firearms will be further restricted to adults 21 years of age and older.

For online gaming and gambling services where anything of monetary value forms part of the prize, content promoting these services will be prohibited.

In specific cases, we might allow content that would otherwise violate our Community Guidelines if the content is determined to be satirical or aimed at criticizing or mocking certain behaviors or practices.
