Violence and Incitement

Rationale

At Nevix, we are committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all our users. This policy is in place to prevent potential offline harm that may be associated with content shared on Nevix. Although we recognize that individuals often express dissent or disapproval through threats or calls to violence in non-serious ways, we are committed to eliminating language that incites or enables severe violence. We remove content, disable accounts, and cooperate with law enforcement when we perceive a genuine risk of physical harm or direct threats to public safety. We also consider the language and context to distinguish casual statements from those that pose credible threats to public or personal safety.

Prohibited Content

Users should not post any content that promotes or glorifies violence. Specifically, the following are prohibited:

• Threats that could lead to death or other forms of high-severity violence.
• Statements of intent to commit high-severity violence.
• Calls for high-severity violence.
• Statements advocating for high-severity violence.
• Aspirational or conditional statements to commit high-severity violence.
• Content that offers, asks for, or admits to offering services of high-severity violence.
• Admissions, statements of intent or advocacy, calls to action, or aspirational or conditional statements related to kidnapping or abduction.
• Content that depicts kidnappings or abductions, unless clearly shared by a victim or their family for help, or for informational or condemnation purposes.
• Threats of high-severity violence using digitally-produced or altered imagery.
• Threats leading to serious injury towards private individuals, unnamed specified persons, minor public figures, high-risk persons or high-risk groups.
• Any content containing statements of intent, calls for action, conditional or aspirational statements, or advocating for violence due to voting, voter registration, or election results.
• Statements of intent or advocacy, calls to action, or aspirational or conditional statements about bringing weapons to locations where there are temporary signals of a heightened risk of violence or offline harm.
• Statements of intent or advocacy, calls to action, or aspirational or conditional statements to forcibly enter locations where there are temporary signals of a heightened risk of violence or offline harm.

Content Requiring Additional Context

In some situations, Nevix requires additional information or context to enforce our standards. Do not post:

• Violent threats against law enforcement officers or people accused of a crime. We remove this content when we have reason to believe that the content intends to cause physical harm.
• Coded statements where the method of violence or harm is not clearly articulated, but the threat is veiled or implicit.
• Threats against election workers or claims of election-related wrongdoing against private individuals when combined with a signal of violence or additional context that confirms that the claim could lead to imminent violence or physical harm.
• Implicit statements of intent or advocacy, calls to action, or aspirational or conditional statements to bring armaments to locations with a temporary heightened risk of violence or offline harm.

We encourage all users to report any content that violates these guidelines. Together, we can ensure Nevix remains a safe and enjoyable platform for everyone.
